U.S.A
Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act 2008 (CPSIA)
CPSIA was signed by President Bush in August 2008 to amend the provisions of the original consumer goods safety law. The main purpose of CPSIA is to (I) strengthen the safety standards for consumer goods, (II) strengthen the safety requirements for children's goods, and (III) improve the consumer goods safety committee. YKK does not produce consumer goods, but its products are widely used in consumer goods. The impact of CPSIA's main specifications on our customers' products and YKK's statement are as follows:
1)Lead content of surface coatings and printing materials
Through internal test, except for ProSeal < sup > ® < / sup > sealed zipper and lead crystal / Rhinestone zipper, the lead content of all YKK products does not exceed the CPSIA standard.
2)Phthalate
The products manufactured by YKK, except for ProSeal < sup > ® < / sup > sealed zipper and PVC joylon < sup > ® < / sup > products, do not exceed the phthalate limit of CPSIA (JR's note: if this is the result obtained through internal test, we must write it, just like the above item)
European Union
Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act 2008 (CPSIA)
Reach is the EU regulation on chemicals and their use, covering the registration, evaluation, authorization and prohibition of chemicals. The following are the regulations related to buckle products, as well as the comments made by YKK.
1)SVHC (high risk substances)
Except for PVC joylon < sup > ® < / sup > products, ProSeal < sup > ® < / sup > sealed zippers and flame-retardant zippers with conex < sup > ® < / sup > and Nomex < sup > ® < / sup > cloth (concentration higher than 0.1% w / W), YKK's main products do not contain 174 SVHC hazardous substances listed in REACH Regulation (July 2017).
2)European nickel limit (partial specification of annex XVII)
All YKK products defined as "n-anti" meet the above nickel limits.
The zippers made of 3yn, 3MN, 4Mn, 5rn and 5rnm made of nickel materials do not meet this specification.
3)European restrictions on azo colorants and azo dyes (part of the specification in Annex XVII)
YKK products are in line with the above nitrogen colorant and azo dye restrictions.
